Pre-study
Pre-study – a service to evaluate AI vision in your production
A pre-study from AI Vision is a standalone service designed to help you assess the potential of camera-based AI in your specific production environment. It’s not a requirement – but a valuable step when conditions are complex or when you want to verify feasibility before moving forward.
You can order a pre-study to get a clear, fact-based recommendation – without committing to a full implementation from the start.
Fixed price: 35,000 SEK (excluding VAT)
What’s included in a pre-study?
1. On-site visit and current state analysis
We visit your facility to observe the selected process together with your operators, engineers, and IT. We identify where and how an AI vision system could provide value – such as through automated quality control or real-time deviation detection.
2. Dialogue with key personnel
We talk to the people who know the process best – often those currently managing quality inspections or troubleshooting. Their input helps us understand what problems need to be solved and what’s required for the system to work in practice.
3. Camera testing, environment analysis and sample data
We evaluate lighting conditions, potential camera placements, and machine behavior. When needed, we perform 3D scans or record videos to realistically assess the quality and reliability of visual data.
4. Recommendation and decision support
You receive a clearly documented report that includes:
– Suggested use case and solution outline
– Recommended hardware and AI structure
– Technical prerequisites and integration options
– Expected impact and business value
– Next steps for a possible pilot or full implementation
You can use this internally to support decisions or as a foundation for a continued collaboration with us.
Examples from real projects
SCA – log intake at sawmill: The pre-study identified exactly where logs were getting jammed, enabling a camera-based AI system to detect and prevent stoppages in real time.
Billerud – misaligned paper rolls: On-site testing and operator insights led to a solution concept for visual roll alignment detection in packaging.
Freudenberg – early defect detection: Our pre-study showed that even with low-cost hardware, we could detect holes and clumps in Wettex products – allowing for an efficient pilot rollout.
